I joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 2008 after completing Bachelors of Laws and Arts (Political Science and Spanish) at Victoria University. Since joining MFAT I have worked in the Legal Division, for the most part on international trade issues. I have really enjoyed this area of the Ministry's work - New Zealand has been very active in this area over a number of years, which means there is never a shortage of interesting and challenging work.

I was born in Auckland but spent the majority of my childhood in Hamilton, after moving there at age 6. I spent a year on an exchange to Argentina at age 16 before returning home for my final year of High School and moving to Wellington the following year for University.

I am a passionate New Zealander and dedicated to seeing it prosper. The prospect of working to further develop MFAT’s Connections with Invercargill is therefore extremely exciting. The deep south of New Zealand has so much to offer and I am looking forward to working with the people of Invercargill to see more what MFAT can do to ensure that Invercargill fully benefits from its international connections.

As Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade contact for Invercargill I will:

  • Be a contact point within MFAT for Invercargill residents with international interests, whether business, services, arts or other areas
  • Act as a friendly MFAT guide, on topics that I know to be of interest to Invercargill
  • Maintain an interest in Invercargill throughout my career and remember your interests while I am posted abroad
  • Visit at least once every year while I am based onshore, before leaving to go on posting and during leave to New Zealand while based offshore
