On 31 March Trade Minister Phil Goff launched a New Zealand-Turkey Economic Stocktake [PDF 384 KB]. Reviewing the outlook for both economies and prospects for further business and economic activity was proposed by Mr Goff when he visited Turkey in 2006, and agreement to conduct a stocktake was one of the outcomes of his visit. The stocktake is a tool to assist businesses in taking advantage of opportunities to grow the bilateral trade relationship.
Gallipoli was a seminal event in the history of our nation, and many suggest that New Zealand’s distinct sense of nationhood was born out of the scars of this 1915 campaign. The annual ANZAC Gallipoli commemorations in Turkey constitute one of the largest annual off-shore gatherings of New Zealanders and Australians and attendance has grown dramatically in recent years.more
