United States Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice visited New Zealand 25 - 27 July. During her visit to Auckland, Secretary Rice met with Foreign Minister Winston Peters and Prime Minister Helen Clark. Secretary Rice also attended a reception hosted by the NZUS Council. Read more

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade produces and maintains information papers for certain countries and territories throughout the world. The papers countain information on the bilateral relationship and also general information on the country or territory as well as links to related information on other government websites.
As the largest economy in the world, the United States has historically been an important economic partner for New Zealand.
External trade statistics are compiled by Statistics New Zealand for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the external trade statistics are updated every six months. It lists, by country, the top 20 merchandise imports and exports, as well as trade in services.
Monthly trade statistic updates provide up-to-date trade figures. You can find them on the Statistics New Zealand website. Open the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet for the complete statistics. Import figures are available in Table 4, and export figures in Table 5.
The Ministry of Tourism releases up-to-date tourism figures and analysis each month. Other datasets are also available.
