Who does what in Government

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is responsible for leading New Zealand’s international climate change negotiations. We work closely with the Ministry for the Environment, which is the department responsible for coordinating climate change policy. We also work closely with a number of other agencies, for example NZAID, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Treasury, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Transport.

Agency websites:

Dr Nick Smith is the Minister for Climate Change Issues and Tim Groser is the Associate Minister for Climate Change Issues (International Negotiations).
