Country Situations: New Zealand Position

New Zealand monitors human rights developments in countries around the world. Where appropriate, we make our views known to the authorities concerned on a bilateral or multilateral basis. We also assist bilaterally and regionally through the New Zealand Aid Programme. Examples of assistance include human rights capability development undertaken in the Pacific by the NZ Human Rights Commission in conjunction with the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, and core funding for the Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions.
