International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR)

This report was considered by the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in May 2003. It covers mainly the period July 1990 to December 1997, but also seeks to cover various subsequent changes in trends, policy and legislation to mid-1999. The next periodic report is due in June 2008. 

 

Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (CERD)

The report covers the period 1 January 2000 to 22 December 2005. The report was considered by the Committee in July/August 2007. The 18th-20th periodic report is due in December 2011.

Convention Against Torture and other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CAT)

New Zealand's 5th periodic report under the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment

The report covers the period 1 January 2003 to 1 January 2007. The report was considered by the Committee Against Torture on 1 May 2009.

 

Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW)

New Zealand's 6th periodic report under the Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women

This was prepared by the Ministry of Women's Affairs and considered by the Committee in August 2007.  The report covers the period March 2002 to March 2006.  The 7th periodic report is due in February 2010.

 

Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC)

Prepared by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, this was considered by the Committee on the Rights of the Child in March 2003.   The 3rd and 4th periodic report was submitted to the Committee in November 2008.
