Rescue Coordination Centre New Zealand Tour

The Rescue Coordination Centre New Zealand (RCCNZ), part of Maritime New Zealand, is a Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC), established in order that New Zealand can meet its international and national obligations to provide sea, air and land search and rescue services throughout its 30 million square kilometre Search and Rescue Region (NZSRR). RCCNZ is responsible for New Zealand’s SAR region in the Antarctic.

A visit to RCCNZ will provide ATME delegates the opportunity to gain an understanding of:

• New Zealand’s undertakings to  meet its international SAR obligations;
• The structure of RCCNZ and its equipment; and
• RCCNZ's management of a typical SAR operation. 
• In addition, there will be an opportunity to visit the co-located Maritime Operations Centre (MOC), which is the maritime distress and safety radio facility that serves New Zealand's maritime Search and Rescue Region.

Transport: A coach departing from the InterContinental Hotel will transfer you to and from the Centre
