Chile's Minister for the Environment visits New Zealand

Chile's Minister for the Environment, María Ignacia Benítez, visited New Zealand from 24-27 September 2011 in order to focus on environment cooperation between New Zealand and Chile, including in the context of the Environment Cooperation Agreement of the TransPacific Strategic Economic Partnership (P4). 

Minister Benítez's programme focused on renewal energy particularly geothermal, wind and hydro-electricity, climate change, air quality, and conservation issues. 

Minister Benítez and New Zealand's Minister for the Environment, Hon Nick Smith, released a Joint Statement [external link] highlighting environment cooperation between New Zealand and Chile.
