Visit to New Zealand by Chile Prime Minister’s Fellow, Luis Mayol

Luis Mayol (President of Chile’s National Agricultural Society), visited New Zealand during the week of 14-17 June as the New Zealand Prime Minister’s Fellow under the Latin America Strategy.

The week long programme involved meetings with the New Zealand Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, agricultural bodies (e.g. Federated Farmers, Meat Industries Association and Dairy Companies Association of New Zealand), New Zealand companies with interests in Chile (e.g. Fonterra, PGG Wrightson, Gallaghers) as well as education and research institutions (e.g. National Trade Academy, Lincoln University, Food Innovation New Zealand). Mr Mayol’s programme coincided with New Zealand Agricultural Fieldays, which was a good opportunity to demonstrate New Zealand technology and farming techniques.
