
The Ministry, though its Latin America Strategy Fund, has commissioned a report on business opportunities in Peru from the International Trade Association of Peru (COMEXPERU).
New Zealand and Peru are currently negotiating a free trade agreement as part of the Trans Pacific Partnership, which will increase the opportunities available to New Zealand businesses in this market. For the latest on these negotiations see below:
The report provides information on doing business in Peru and explains Peru’s advantages for investors including: Location; a strong network of free trade agreements; reasonable labor costs; an abundance of natural resources, and a friendly investment environment. Opportunities for New Zealand businesses are indentified in specialised services for industries pivotal to Peru’s economy in which New Zealand has expertise such as agriculture, forestry, energy.
