
New Zealand's first Ambassador to Afghanistan resident in Kabul, Neville Reilly, presented his letters of credence at a ceremony on 4 July 2010. The ceremony, at the Presidential Palace in Kabul, officially confirmed Ambassador Reilly in the role of New Zealand's senior representative in Afghanistan. The diplomatic accreditation was until then maintained from New Zealand's Embassy in Tehran.
