Anzac Day commemorated around the world

NZ Ambassador, Trevor MathesonNZ Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Trevor Matheson providing the ANZAC morning address at the Embassy in 2008.

Anzac Day commemorations have been held around the world on 25 April with many New Zealand Embassies and High Commissions holding dawn services with our Australian counterparts for New Zealanders and Australians who are based overseas.

As well as commemorating the sacrifice and courage made by Australia and New Zealand Army Corps at Gallipoli in 1915, Anzac Day is a time for New Zealanders and Australians to commemorate their fellow countrymen and women who have died at war, and honour those still serving.

At the commemorative services held at Gallipoli this year, the New Zealand Government was represented by Governor-General Hon Sir Anand Satyanand along with the Minister of Veterans Affairs, Judith Collins.
