Opening doors offshore - NZ Inc Strategies
Government has directed NZ Inc agencies to work in partnership with exporters and business to support the expansion of trade. The NZ Inc Country and Regional Strategies are, however, not just about trade. The New Zealand Government seeks better diplomatic relationships with other countries and regions, and supports greater security, both globally, and in the Asia-Pacific region.
“NZ Inc” is a term used to describe Government agencies, who work at home and abroad, in partnership with business, industry sectors, migrant communities, creative and artistic sector, and other stakeholders, to pursue New Zealand’s offshore goals.
Opening Doors Offshore: NZ Inc Strategies – is part of a broader Government strategy to increase the internationalisation of the New Zealand economy.
The strategies also form part of the New Zealand Government’s Economic Growth Agenda and support the Government’s main goal to deliver greater prosperity, security and opportunity for all New Zealanders.
The strategies are aimed at either key emerging markets or our key existing markets. India is the first NZ Inc Strategy, China is nearing completion and a further six strategies are still in development.
