Trade agreements between two or more countries make international trade easier and more efficient. New Zealand is committed to liberalising trade through a number of regional, bilateral and multilateral trade agreements.

Agreements in Force

• New Zealand and Malaysia Free Trade Agreement (Agreement is signed but not yet entered into force)
• ASEAN-Australia/NZ Free Trade Area (Agreement is signed but not yet entered into force)
• New Zealand-China Free Trade Agreement (NZ-China FTA) - The FTA was signed on 7 April 2008 and entered into force on 1 October 2008.
