Mutual Assistance and Extradition

69. Treaty on Extradition between New Zealand and the United States of America

The Treaty would deal with the extradition of accused and convicted persons between the two countries. There is an extradition treaty currently in force between New Zealand and the United States. However, the treaty was concluded in 1970 and as a result, it is desirable that the treaty be modernised to bring it in line with current international practice in extradition matters.
