Policy Adviser/Translator

The New Zealand High Commission in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Policy Adviser/Translator to help advance and support the New Zealand Government’s interests in Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam.

In this role, you will support the High Commission’s engagement with government officials, local contacts (including think-tanks and NGOs) and the business sector. You will be responsible for conducting research and analysis, and preparing a range of reports, documents and briefings. Your role will have a particular focus on trade, economic, climate change and environment matters.

Your excellent research and critical analysis skills; strong written and oral English and Malay language communication skills; and ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, will be key to your success. Experience studying or working in New Zealand and/or Foreign Diplomatic Missions would be an advantage.

The annual salary for the position starts at RM75,000, subject to negotiation, dependent upon your skills and experience.
