Ambassador to Belgium, Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Moldova and Romania
Gregory Andrews has been New Zealand’s Ambassador to Belgium since October 2016. He is concurrently Ambassador to Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Moldova and Romania.
Gregory is a career diplomat. Since joining the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 1999 he has had overseas postings in Moscow and London.
In Wellington he has worked on a wide range of issues, but predominantly in trade policy and trade negotiations. His previous appointment was as manager of the Free Trade Agreement Implementation Unit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The unit is responsible for implementing and helping business extract full value from New Zealand’s Free Trade Agreements.
Gregory studied at the University of Auckland in New Zealand, and has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Arts in Philosophy.
Gregory is married to Melissa and has three children (Jack, Lily and Mila).
