Who we are
The New Zealand Defence Attaché Office (NZDAO) is responsible for facilitating the defence relationship between the New Zealand Defence Force and the Defence Forces of the countries to which the NZDAO is accredited. The office is headed by the New Zealand Defence Attaché and supported by the Defence Office Manager.
What we need
The Defence Office Manager is a key appointment within the NZDAO. The position is responsible for providing the office management function, including administrative, secretarial, financial, information management, defence office organisation and events coordination services.
Your previous experience in an office environment in a large multifaceted organisation along with your effective communication skills will be called upon daily when performing your duties in Brussels’ multinational military and diplomatic environment. You have the ability to have English as a working language, and a good knowledge of French and Dutch would be a definite advantage.
Your high level of computer literacy and excellent skills in the Microsoft Office suite of applications will be essential to your success when undertaking various responsibilities. Time management, cashbook accounting and working within a team environment are also key attributes that we are looking for. Having a valid Five Eyes security clearance would be an advantage.
This is a full-time fixed-term position from mid-September 2020 until mid-March 2021.
Remuneration band for this role is Euro 47,000 to Euro 50,000 (dependant on experience) pro-rated over the term of employment.
- The successful applicant for this full time fixed-term position will be employed as a Locally Employed Civilian (LEC) and not a NZDF civil staff member.
- All travel, accommodation and living costs are the responsibility of the successful applicant.
- Applicants are responsible for ensuring that they have the right to reside and work in Belgium.
- You must be able to obtain and retain New Zealand Government Clearance.
