Verwaltungsleiter (m/w/d); Administration Manager: New Zealand Embassy, Berlin

The New Zealand Embassy is recruiting for the role of Administration Manager, at the earliest possible date. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a highly motivated team focused on promoting good relations between New Zealand and Germany.

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role 

The role is part of the Embassy’s management team.  You will work directly with the Ambassador and Deputy Ambassador.  You will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of all administrative office functions at the Embassy. The role’s focus is people management, property and asset management, and financial oversight. 

You will manage four fulltime staff, and other fixed term contractors that work at the office.  You will be responsible for supporting the relationship with two other NZ agencies that work within the Embassy.

Mā‎ wai te mahi nei? – Who are we looking for?

You will have experience with managing people within an administrative context or evidence of delivery within a complex office environment.  Understanding property and asset management, the design and management of contractor and contracts, and financial management experience are an advantage.

You will be highly motivated, people-centred, adaptable, enjoy multi-tasking, and a varied workload.  You will have experience in building network and managing stakeholders to achieve the Embassy’s objectives.  You will enjoy a largely self-directed work programme, getting the best out of people, and setting the tone for a positive work culture.  You will be fluent in German and English.

The successful applicant will be employed on local terms and conditions and must have the right to live and work in Germany.  For any non-German/European applicant, obtaining and maintaining the appropriate working visa is the responsibility of the applicant and any offer of employment is subject to this. If applicable, relocation to Berlin is at the expense of the applicant.
