Conditions and Eligibility for the 2020 Royal Garden Parties

Applications for invitations to attend the 2020 Royal Garden Parties have closed.
Successful applicants will be notified by email by Wednesday 12 February.

In addition to checking your In Box, applicants are strongly advised to check their spam and junk mail.

The High Commission has been invited by Buckingham Palace to submit names of New Zealanders to attend the 2020 Royal Garden Parties.

This offer is a discretionary service to the New Zealand community on behalf of the Palace.

We are allocated a limited number of invitations by Buckingham Palace and because of the high demand and security requirements for these events a rigorous application process is necessary.

All principal applicants must be a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand passport, who is either visiting the United Kingdom as a tourist, or residing with a temporary visa such as a Youth Mobility working holiday visa, temporary work visa, student visa or limited time visa i.e. Ancestry, etc.

New Zealanders who are permanent residents of the UK with visas such as Indefinite Leave to Remain are not eligible to apply as a principal applicant.  This is a condition set by Buckingham Palace.

Principal applicants may be accompanied by a guest.  The guest may be of any nationality and may be a permanent resident of the UK.

An electronic ballot will be used to ensure equal opportunity for all applicants.

All invitations will need to be collected by the successful applicants and their guests from New Zealand House on the day of their Garden Party between 11am and 2 pm.

We strongly advise that you read the following notes and application form and conditions very carefully before submitting your application.

The following information on the application process, collection process, security details and dress code form part of the application.  By submitting an application you agree to these conditions.
