Chef – New Zealand High Commission, New Delhi, India

The New Zealand High Commission in New Delhi is recruiting a Chef to prepare and cook top quality meals.  These will be served at the High Commissioner’s Residence for representational functions such as receptions, lunches and dinners, as well as family meals.  The Chef plans, budgets, and manages all catering at the Residence, and must be able to demonstrate:

•       A passion for food

•       An innovative approach to menus, both large and small

•       Practical experience in New Zealand cuisine (and wine)

•       An extremely high standard of food handling and food safety practices

•       Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

•       Ability to work under pressure in a cross-cultural environment

The successful applicant will be employed on local terms and conditions and must be able to obtain the appropriate working visa.  Assistance in obtaining the appropriate visa can be provided for the approved candidate.  An initial 12 months  contract will be offered with the option to extend on a mutually agreed basis. Relocation to New Delhi is to be undertaken at the expense of the applicant. The chef will be provided with basic accommodation on-site at the locally engaged staff quarters.
