Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters spoke yesterday with Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi.

The Ministers discussed the two countries’ respective responses to COVID-19 and the shared challenges presented by the virus.

The Ministers agreed to stay in close contact to ensure that New Zealanders in Indonesia and Indonesians in New Zealand were supported during this time.

The Ministers acknowledged the support New Zealand had provided to Indonesia for COVID-19 testing and Indonesia’s efforts to ensure the continued flow of two-way trade, particularly in horticulture.

The Ministers agreed that it was important for the international community to continue working collectively to combat the virus.
