Hon Bill English, Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Finance visited Germany on 2 and 4 May.

Bill English first went to Berlin on 2 May where he met his counterpart Dr Wolfgang Schäuble.

He also gave a speech at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, met with senior officals at the Office of the Federal Chancellory, business organisations, investors and economists.

The Minister of Finance then went on to Frankfurt, where in his capacity as New Zealand Governor of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), he met with the President, Takehiko Nakao, and held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from the Asia-Pacific Region to discuss regional economic development.

Alongside the official ADB programme, he held meetings with the European Central Bank President, Mario Draghi and the Bundesbank President, Dr Jens Weidmann.
