ASEAN was the obvious choice for our first regional NZ Inc strategy. The ASEAN region has a young population of more than 600 million people, and its fast-growing middle class is increasingly demanding the high quality food and goods that New Zealand can supply.

The NZ Inc ASEAN Strategy sets the following five-year goals:

  1. Become better connected and more influential in ASEAN countries.
  2. Become better integrated with the ASEAN community.
  3. Boost investment and trade and economic returns from the region.

The NZ Inc ASEAN Strategy plays an important role in the Government’s Business Growth Agenda, which aims to grow our exports from 30% to 40% of GDP by 2025.
