Notarial services

In certain circumstances, staff at this Embassy are able to witness affidavits, affirmations, statutory declarations and other documents for use under New Zealand law. The witnessing must take place at the New Zealand Embassy. Please call the Embassy Consular staff to enquire about this service, including applicable fees.

Fees

Certifying documents as true copies of the original (eg. birth or marriage certificates):

Issuing consular letters, issuing consular certificates, taking affidavits, affirmations or statutory declarations (document prepared by solicitor or applicant):

Witnessing signatures on documents (eg. wills, power of attorney, land transfer deeds):

Verifying local foreign ministry signature/seal on foreign documents for use in New Zealand:

Verifying translations of documents (500 words or less):

Verifying Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade signature/seal on documents for use overseas which have been forwarded by the Ministry's Consular Division, or direct by the client, for passing to a foreign mission:

If you are a New Zealand citizen in need of urgent assistance, in case of hospitalisation, death, arrest or other emergency situation, please phone the after-hours consular officer on +966 566 664 442 for immediate assistance.

Note that this phone number is for emergency use for consular crises involving New Zealand citizens only.

Any enquiries relating to information on visas, police clearances or other routine matters should be made to the main Embassy phone number during business hours (+966 11 488-7988, 0900-1200 and 1230-1500, Sunday – Thursday).

Responses to any questions on routine issues will NOT be given by the after-hours consular officer.
