Tropical storm Michael in southeast US

News:

Tropical Storm Michael is heading towards the southeast coast of the United States and is predicted to make landfall as a Category 2 hurricane in the Pensacola region of Florida on Wednesday morning. The National Hurricane Center warns that high winds and heavy rainfall from Tropical Storm Michael will affect the states of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.

New Zealanders in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina are advised to avoid affected areas and follow the advice of local authorities at all times, including any evacuation orders. Seek suitable shelter. Visitors and tourists staying in travel accommodation should follow the guidance of their accommodation management and/or tour operators. Monitor local media to stay up to date with developments. It is generally considered sensible practice not to venture outdoors and remain well away from the sea during a hurricane.
