APEC Support Coordinator, New Zealand High Commission Kuala Lumpur
Are you an experienced coordinator in logistics and administration looking for a new challenge? Would you like to help to support New Zealand’s participation in APEC 2020 and 2021?
The APEC Support Coordinator is responsible for contributing to the advancement of New Zealand’s foreign policy interests by leading the High Commission’s logistics and administrative planning to support the hosting of New Zealand ministers and senior officials at meetings in Malaysia across the year. You will also provide policy support for APEC policy priorities, as well as other ongoing tasks as required by the High Commission.
The position will be based in Kuala Lumpur but travel to other parts of Malaysia may be required. This is a fixed-term role from February to 6 December, 2020.
The position is employed on local terms and conditions. If you are a New Zealand citizen, you must be able to obtain the necessary clearance. The High Commission does not provide assistance with airfares or accommodation but will assist with obtaining authorization to work for a diplomatic mission in Malaysia.
You must have at least an undergraduate degree, sound judgement, critical and analytical thinking, and attention to detail, motivation, initiative, and an ability to set priorities. You must also be highly organised, have excellent communication skills, the ability to build a robust network of contacts and be able to work cooperatively as part of a small team.
The starting salary range for this position is between RM75,000 and RM85,000 per annum, with position in the range dependent upon skills and experience. You would ideally be available to commence duties in Kuala Lumpur in February/March 2020.
