New Zealand's Acting High Commissioner to Malaysia
Pam Dunn has been Acting New Zealand High Commissioner to Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam since April 2020. She is concurrently serving as New Zealand’s Ambassador to ASEAN, a role which she has held since March 2018.
Pam is a career diplomat with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. She was posted to China three times: Beijing as First Secretary and again as Deputy Head of Mission in the New Zealand Embassy to China; and Shanghai as New Zealand Consul-General. She has also worked in Bangkok.
In Wellington, Pam has worked in both North Asia Division and South East Asia Division. In 2016 she was in the Office of the Chief Executive working on Asia issues. In 2017 she was seconded as Senior Private Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Pam is from Wellington. She studied at Victoria University and Beijing Normal University. She speaks Chinese and is learning Indonesian.
Pam is married to Ross Dunn and has one son.
