Working in India

The New Zealand High Commission in India is not responsible for issuing work permits for New Zealanders wishing to work in India. Please contact the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs(external link) to apply for a work permit.

Australia New Zealand Association

The Australia New Zealand Association (ANZA) is a social group that aims to provide a focus for the New Zealand and Australian community in Delhi. The association is open to all New Zealand and Australian expatriates living in Delhi. The main activities organised by the group include monthly gatherings and the annual Melbourne Cup event.

Getting married in India

Information for New Zealanders getting married overseas is available from the Births Deaths and Marriages(external link) office in Wellington.

Applications for Certificate of No Impediment(external link) are available at the New Zealand High Commission in New Delhi. The High Commission can forward a completed application form to the Births Deaths and Marriages office in Wellington on your behalf.

Please note that it is very important that you contact the marriage authorities in India, or authorities in the other countries to which this High Commission is accredited (Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka) to check their marriage laws and requirements.
