New Zealand is deeply concerned by the renewed tensions along the Cambodia–Thailand border, and by the reports of casualties. We urge both parties to return to peace as soon as possible and to support de-escalation.
We call on both sides to advance implementation of the Joint Declaration signed in Kuala Lumpur on 26 October. New Zealand will continue to support ASEAN in its mediation efforts and monitoring role.
