New Zealand Ambassador to Argentina
Raylene Liufalani was appointed New Zealand Ambassador to Argentina in February 2016. She is also Ambassador to Paraguay and Uruguay.
Raylene is a career diplomat. Her career in the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has been centered on multilateral issues, particularly disarmament and the environment. Previous appointments include Deputy Permanent Representative to the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva and Economic and Trade Officer at the New Zealand Commerce and Industry Office in Taipei.
Prior to taking up her appointment in Buenos Aires, Raylene was Lead Adviser in Ministry’s Environment Division with responsibility for oceans, biodiversity and international environmental governance.
Raylene is of Niuean descent and attended the University of Waikato where she graduated with a Master of Arts in Chinese studies. Raylene is joined in Buenos Aires by her partner Simon Oates and son.
