Notarial services

In certain circumstances, staff at this Embassy are able to witness affidavits, affirmations, statutory declarations and other documents for use under New Zealand law. The witnessing must take place at the New Zealand Embassy. Notarial services are also available at our consulates in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu.

Notarial services are by appointment only during the following times:


Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am – 12pm

Notarial costs


• Certifying a document which is a true copy of the original (additional copies of the same original document are charged at 50% of the full rate):  RMB 190


• Preparing consular letter:  RMB 380


• Taking an affidavit, affirmation or statutory declaration (documents prepared by solicitor or applicant):  RMB 380


• Witnessing signature on document RMB 380


• Verifying local foreign ministry signature/seal on foreign document for use in New Zealand:  RMB 380


• Verifying MFAT signature/seal on document for use overseas that has been forwarded by Consular Division or direct from the client:  RMB 570
