Policy Adviser (Locally Engaged) – New Zealand High Commission, New Delhi
The New Zealand High Commission in New Delhi is recruiting a Policy Adviser to help advance New Zealand’s interests in India. In this locally engaged role, you’ll track and analyse political, economic/trade, social and security trends; prepare high-quality briefings and talking points; support official calls, visits and events; contribute to public diplomacy activities; and maintain priority relationships across government, business, media and civil society. You’ll work across portfolios and with NZ Inc partners (e.g. NZTE, ENZ, MPI, INZ, NZDF) to deliver joined-up advice and whole-of-Post outcomes.
SEP Policy Adviser
You’ll bring:
- A relevant post-graduate qualification (IR/political science/public policy or similar) and ~4+ years’ policy/analysis experience.
- Excellent written/oral communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with sound judgement in a high-profile environment.
- Strong research, synthesising and planning skills; ability to manage competing priorities; high integrity and cultural awareness.
- Experience contributing to outreach/public diplomacy or external communications is an advantage.
