Paula Wilson
Acting Deputy Chief Executive - Policy
Paula Wilson is currently Acting Deputy Chief Executive, Policy, at the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Her substantive role is Divisional Manager for International Security and Disarmament Division. For the preceding three years she was Divisional Manager for North Asia, leading a large Wellington-based team and a network of posts.
Paula was previously Foreign Policy Adviser in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet for three years, serving two Prime Ministers.
Prior to that she was Divisional Manager for Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. She has held various positions at MFAT and been posted in Brussels, Canberra and Bonn/Berlin. Paula has a Masters Degree in Geography and History from the University of Canterbury, and is married with twin teenage boys.
