The New Zealand-United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement includes the provision for five transitional tariff rate quotas which provide immediate tariff-free access for New Zealand beef, sheep meat, butter, and cheese into the United Kingdom.
New Zealand manages the administration of the tariff rate quota volumes through the issuance of tariff rate quota export certificates.
- The Ministry for Primary Industries(external link) is responsible for the administration of the butter and cheese quotas.
- The New Zealand Meat Board(external link) is responsible for the administration of the beef and sheep meat quotas.
The aggregate quota volumes certified as eligible for export under tariff rate quotas are available on this website, and are updated on a monthly basis.
Note: as of January 1, 2026, fresh apples (previously recorded on this website) have transitioned to a duty-free, quota-free good.
