New Zealand Defence Adviser Office (NZDAO)

Location: New Delhi

The New Zealand Defence Adviser Office (NZDAO), based at the New Zealand High Commission in New Delhi, is seeking an experienced and highly capable Office Manager to provide administrative, financial and executive support to the Defence Adviser and manage the day-to-day operations of the office.

This is a trusted and senior support role requiring strong organisational skills, discretion, and the ability to work independently in a busy diplomatic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide executive and administrative support to the Defence Adviser
  • Manage office administration, correspondence, records and databases
  • Assist with organisation of official events and visits (including ANZAC Day)
  • Provide finance support including budgeting, payments, and reconciliations
  • Support NZDF visitors and students with travel, accommodation and logistics
  • Supervise and manage a Driver/Office Assistant
  • Liaise with NZ High Commission staff and host government counterparts
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • High level of proficiency in English and Hindi – reading, writing, speaking and understanding
  • Minimum 3–4 years’ experience in executive or office management / administration
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of accuracy, organisation and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
Additional Requirements:
  • Willingness to work outside normal office hours when required
  • Ability to obtain local police vetting and security clearance
  • Previous experience supporting senior officials is highly desirable

Vacancy: Driver/Administrator

New Zealand Defence Staff (NZDS)

Location: New Delhi

Remuneration: Salary will be offered within the approved range for this role, between INR 684,249 and INR 804,999 per annum depending on skills, experience and qualifications.

The New Zealand Defence Staff (NZDS) in New Delhi is seeking a reliable and professional Driver and Administrator to provide dedicated driving support to the Defence Adviser and assist with general office administration.

This role requires excellent driving skills, strong professionalism, and the ability to work in a diplomatic and high-trust environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide VIP and official driving support to the Defence Adviser and visiting officials
  • Maintain and ensure roadworthiness of the official vehicle (cleaning, refuelling, servicing and repairs)
  • Maintain vehicle records, logbooks, licences and insurance documentation
  • Assist with office administration including correspondence, photocopying and databases
  • Support logistics for official visits, meetings and functions
  • Liaise with other diplomatic drivers and service providers
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • High level of English proficiency (speaking, reading and understanding)
  • Proven experience in staff car or VIP driving
  • Strong knowledge of local roads and traffic conditions
  • High standard of personal presentation and professionalism
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and use good judgement
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
Additional Requirements:
  • Current, clean driver’s licence
  • Willingness to work outside normal hours when required
  • Ability to obtain local police clearance
  • Defensive driving qualification is desirable
