Executive Assistant to the High Commissioner

New Zealand High Commission  –  London
(Fixed Term, Locally Employed)

The New Zealand High Commission in London is seeking a dynamic Executive Assistant who will provide executive and administration support to the High Commissioner.  

The Executive Assistant is responsible for ensuring that the High Commissioner can perform their duties with maximum impact, ease and efficiency. This is a highly varied role.   • Attention to detail and thoroughness in following through tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships and working within a team
  • Competent in Microsoft Office suite
  • Communications and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Proven ability of strong self-management
  • Ability to anticipate issues and problems and think of creative solutions
  • Sound judgement and decision-making skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing job demands
  • Understanding of The Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti, Te Reo Māori and Māori customs and protocols would be beneficial

Applicants must be: 

  • legally entitled to reside and work in the UK. All permits and visas must be valid.
  • able to obtain and maintain an appropriate New Zealand Government Security clearance which requires applicants to hold New Zealand citizenship.

This is a fixed term (initial one-year contract), locally employed position. Please note that no offshore allowances, relocation support, or housing provisions apply. 

Salary Range:  £31,708 to £37,304
