London Passport Office

The Department of Internal Affairs Identity Services Office in London — referred to as the London Passport Office — is responsible for the issuing and renewals of New Zealand Passports in the UK.

The London Passport Office is currently operating under restricted conditions. For urgent enquiries, you can email or call the London Passports Team between 10am-2pm, Monday to Friday (UK-time): 020 7968 2730 or London@dia.govt.nz. For urgent and non-urgent passports, apply online.

Transferring UK Visas into New Zealand Passports

If you have had a new NZ passport issued, and have a UK permit in the old one, you need to apply to UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) to have the visa / permit reissued in the new passport.

Neither the High Commission, nor the New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs Passport Office, has any authority to transfer a UK visa from an expired / lost / stolen New Zealand passport to a new one. This can only be done by the UKVI.

There are new rules and you may need to apply for a biometric residence permit (BRP) instead.  More information can be found at this website www.gov.uk/transfer-visa(external link) or www.gov.uk/biometric-residence-permits(external link) or contact the UKVI directly:
