We are looking for a Policy Adviser to join our team

We’re looking for a driven Policy Adviser to join our team at the New Zealand Embassy in Bogotá. In this role, you’ll help advance New Zealand’s interests across Latin America by delivering sharp analysis, cultivating strong stakeholder relationships, and managing projects that make a real difference—including our small development programme. If you’re passionate about international affairs, trade and agriculture, and thrive in a diverse, collaborative environment, we want to hear from you!

Who are we looking for?

  • A driven person, able to work independently, with excellent analytical and policy skills. 
  • Someone with well-developed planning and organisational skills, the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and work well under pressure.
  • A collaborative team player with strong stakeholder management skills and full proficiency (written and oral communication) in English and Spanish. 
  • An individual with a passion for learning and the willingness to learn about, and contribute to, work across a wide range of issues. 

The monthly entry point salary for this role is COP 10,500,000. The position will be an initial one-year contract, with the option for renewal and/or transition to an open-ended contract. The ideal candidate will be available to commence duties before March 2026.

We are looking for a Public Affairs and Consular Adviser to join our team

We’re looking for a motivated Public Affairs and Consular Adviser to join our team at the New Zealand Embassy in Bogotá. In this role, you’ll lead the Embassy’s communications and public diplomacy efforts — crafting messages that resonate and building connections that matter — while also providing valuable consular support to New Zealanders across Colombia and our accredited countries. If you’re passionate about getting the message out and thrive in a role that blends strategy with people-focused service, we’d love to hear from you!

  • A creative, social media-savvy person with demonstrated experience in managing large events and public affairs.
  • Someone with well-developed planning and organisational skills, able to prioritise tasks effectively and work well under pressure.
  • A team player with strong stakeholder management skills and full proficiency (written and oral communication) in English and Spanish. 
  • An individual with a passion for learning and the willingness to learn about, and contribute to, work across a wide range of issues.
